Think Like A Man Too Review

Think Like a Man Too (PG-13)

Mike:

Mike: Tonight I am reviewing Think Like a Man Too, the sequel to the popular movie from April of 2012.

I wanted to see this film, since I was a fan of the first one and I wasn’t disappointed. The first one surprised me with how funny it was. This one didn’t surprise me, but it was very funny.

Even though this is an ensemble cast, the lead was definitely Kevin Hart. Hart was a standout in the original, but his star has really risen in the past two years. The filmmakers decided to beef up his role, much in the way the ensemble Hangover films are now centered on Zach Galifianakis. It’s a good plan too, because if you don’t laugh at the vertically challenged Kevin Hart, then you probably have no business being at a comedy.

Including Hart, the rest of the original cast returns. Not only the cast, but we also get the same screenwriters and director. The main additions are Wendi McLendon-Covey as Bennett’s wife Tish and Dennis Haysbert as Uncle Eddie. We get cameos from Drake, Floyd Mayweather as well as small parts handled by Cheryl Hines, Kelsey Grammer, and George Wallace.

Also like the Hangover films, this one takes place in Las Vegas in the days before a wedding. Michael (Terrence Jenkins) and Candace (Regina Hall) are getting married. Amazingly Cedric (Hart) is the Best Man. There is the typical romantic comedy drama going on with the other couples portrayed by Michael Ealy and Taraji P. Henson, Romany Malco and Meagan Good and Jerry Ferrara and Gabrielle Union. The story may be predictable, but like in the first one, this movie is entertaining and laugh out loud funny.

If you liked Think Like a Man, then you will probably enjoy this too. Like many other sequels out there, you don’t need to have seen the original to understand or even enjoy this movie.

I give this a 3 out of 5 stars. This is a movie that makes for a fun night out, especially on a date. Also, if you are a fan of Kevin Hart, this is a must see. His Flintstone’s Bam Bam outfit and wig alone are worth the price of admission.
